Hi! I'm Kristen.
I’m a traveler at heart, from solo backpacking to wild adventures. I’m also an ethical vegan, a volunteer, and a conservationist.
I got my travel start as a kid, road tripping through national parks with my family. In college, I applied for my first passport and flew to Europe for a summer course in the Netherlands, soon followed by a tropical ecology course in the jungles of Costa Rica. Since then, I’ve traveled throughout the world, exploring six continents in a variety of ways. My most favorite destinations are wild places: lush rainforests, breathtaking savannahs, and rugged coastlines.
In 2012, I moved to the UK for grad school, where I studied primate conservation. I conducted my thesis work in Sri Lanka, with a focus on responsible travel and educating tourists about wildlife issues. During this time, I transitioned from vegetarian to vegan and began working in the field of animal rights, specifically on behalf of animals exploited for food.
During the last 15 years, I’ve lived in the Amazon rainforest, cared for rescued monkeys, hiked to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro, and snorkeled in the Great Barrier Reef. Exploring the natural world — and seeing wildlife living in their natural habitats — has changed my life and expanded my worldview more than I could have imagined.
I know how difficult it can be to find wildlife experiences that meet high ethical standards, so I’m excited to now be helping other people have their own life-changing, values-driven travel adventures.
